The Santa Maria is an Islander Freeport 41. Built in Costa Mesa, California all Freeports were built to order. When you purchased a Freeport from the Islander Corporation they hand made the boat according to the buyer’s specifications. These where the highest end American boats built at the time and the buyers were usually movie stars, musicians, or other high profile people. The Santa Maria was originally named “Sea Runner” because it was built for Chuck Jones, the illustrator for the “Wiley Coyote” cartoons. There is still an original hand drawn cartoon hanging from the bulkhead right in the main saloon.

All the Islander Freeports have a slightly different interior layout and the Santa Maria has the best we have ever seen. Chuck must have been doing very well at the time because after the boats completion he sent it to a specialty yard and had it fitted out for two more years. The end result is a truly exceptional yacht. The normally vinyl headliner was replaced with teak planking covering the entire interior. You will have trouble finding a more finely fitted yacht anywhere. In 2006 the exterior was completely redone with fresh awlgrip giving the boat a nearly new finish.

We got our hands on this amazing yacht and transitioned her from a work of art to a mean sailing machine. Brand new custom sails and rigging in 2011, coupled with a premium sound system makes the Santa Maria perfect for high end entertaining and parties for any occasion. Her custom deck layout means a larger cockpit able to accommodate more passengers, and during our team building events that means more people can participate in the fun.
