Our Cancellation Policy: If it is raining hard, we will not go out. If it is light rain or off-and-on rain, we will still sail and you can decide to reschedule or request a refund. For daily sails, we set sail on-time and will not hold the boat if you are running late.
When are you going back to 36 passengers?
We are never going back to full capacity. While our boats are coast guard licensed for 36 passengers, we are limiting to groups of 24 or less for social distancing, comfort, and class. Customers, crew, and management are having a much better time with the limited capacity of 24 for private charters and 16 for daily public sails. When the boat is not completely packed the experience is so much better for the customers and the crew. Our boat parties are limited capacity events which means an exclusive guest list, and premium experience for all.
We have 3 identical boats at 24 passengers each so 72 total passengers capacity, for these larger groups we like to run a 2 or 3 boat regatta. A friendly race and team building exercises are popular. Please see here: https://sailsf.com/team- building/
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Private charter deposits of 50% is due to reserve charter time and date. Balance is due 10 days prior to charter date. Increased guest count charges due at time of guest count change. Guranteed guests count due 10 days prior to charter date. Cancellations subject to a 20% cancellation fee after boat reservation has been confirmed. Cancellation fee within 14 days equals deposit abount. Cancellations within 7 days, no refund. FORMS OF PAYMENT: Credit Card, Wire, Venmo cancellation fee after boat reservation has been made.
Daily sails:
For our public daily sails. We are happy to cancel and refund until 24 hours before sail time, but we are no longer accepting day of cancellations. We can try to reschedule if someone is running late until 2 hr before sail time. Within 2 hrs of departure we will be not able to cancel or reschedule. With enough notice we can try to sell your cancelled seats. If you cancel at the time of departure or miss the boat we will not refund your tickets.

If it’s raining hard we won’t go out at all. If it’s light/ off and on rain we will still sail and you can decide for yourself if you want to go on or reschedule or get a refund
What can you see in a 90 min sail?
Our normal route leaves from Pier 39, we sail to Alcatraz, Angel island, up to Sausalito, parallel the Golden Gate Bridge and then right down along the city front.
Do you any more pictures of the boats?
Our Instagram has tons of pics – @Sfsailingco
Is there a restroom on board?
Yes there is a restroom on board. Still we recommend using the ones on the pier before or after the sail if you can. It’s small but functional
Is there seating for everyone?
There is seating for 44 people inside and out as measured by the US coast guard.
Which boat is the nicest?
All the vessels are from the same mold. Only difference is color of paint stripe, and interior flooring. We use them interchangeably.
What if it looks windy at the time of sail?
You can have whatever type of ride you want. Tell the captain “wet and wild” or “smooth and mild” it’s usually windy and colder by Alcatraz and Golden Gate Bridge. Calm and warm by the Bay Bridge and city front
What should I wear?
Dress as warm as you can. Unless you are lucky enough to be scheduled for the one warm day of the year dress like you are going skiing. Layers are best since it can go from 80 degrees in the Marina to 52 degrees at Alcatraz.
